35 year-old Mahir (Kenan İmirzalıoğlu) lives with his family in Istanbul of the 1970s. He works with his father Nazif (Çetin Tekindor) as a shoe-maker. One day, Nazif Kara is imprisoned for a murder he did not commit.
In an attempt to prove his father's innocence, Mahir with the help of their lawyer Erdal, joins the court as a graduate lawyer trainee and meets the judge of his father's trial. Feride Saimoglu (Bergüzar Korel) is a newly appointed judge to the court and close friend of Süyelman, the prosecutor Nazif Kara is accused of having murdered. While trying to prove his father's innocence, Mahir and Feride gradually come very close, which Turgut Akin, prosecutor at court, fearing to lose not only a woman but also being convicted begrudgingly observes.
